Book and Oreos

Family night for two is a challenge, but it's still important to set aside time to spend together. This week we ate Oreo cookies with milk and started reading a book together. We have read books aloud to each other before and always enjoy it.... of course, doing voices for all of the characters makes it even more fun. We are currently reading The Lightening Thief  by Rick Riordan. We started reading books together while we were dating. We spent four months apart with only cell phones to connect us. Eventually, you begin to struggle for conversation but you just want to stay on the phone and hear each others voice. So we read books together. We'd check out the same book and read it together over the phone. Some of the books we've enjoyed reading together, over the phone or while cuddling, are Cheaper by the Dozen by Frank B. Gilbreth, Jr and Ernestine Gilbreth Carey and the Fablehaven series by Brandon Mull.

P.S. If you stick a fork into the creme filling of an Oreo cookie it is easier to dunk into the milk. You don't get your fingers dipped into the milk and you can dunk the entire cookie at once. Oreo cookies are also good when they are frozen.
