Was That Your Dad?!?

So my husband was dropping me off at the junior high where I student teach drama. It was in the morning and the bell hadn't yet rang. Students were hanging around in front of the school. Some were lounging in the sun on a short wall near a wheel chair ramp.

My husband gave me a goodbye kiss after I reminded him that I would need picked up at 1:15 that day. I go out of the car, walked around it, and turned to wave goodbye as I walked to class. My husband wave and then held up fingers for 1:50. I went back to the car to remind him that it was at 1:15 that I needed picked up. He knew that..... he just wanted another goodbye kiss, which I gladly bestowed upon him.

As he was driving away and as I was walking toward my classroom a student was observing us. He was a little seventh grader, about 5 feet tall, with a big baggy t-shirt, baggy jeans, and wearing a ball cap with a flat bill cocked to the side. This is one of those kids who loves to ridicule his peers to make himself look cool, and he had seen our goodbye kisses. So as my husband is driving away he hears that kid yell at me, "Was that your dad?!?!"

"No!" I yelled back. "That was my husband! I'm a teacher!"
